About Dr. Jordan Hollar (he, him, his)

Therapeutic approach:

I integrate a variety of evidence-based approaches into my practice, including Psychodynamic therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Schema-Therapy, Prolonged Exposure, and Exposure-Response Prevention.

Background:

I work with adolescents and adults of different ages, race, gender, religious/spiritual background, sexual orientation, and ethnicity. I graduated from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in Washington, DC., hold licenses in Washington, DC., (license # Psy200001521) and Virginia (license # 0810008255) and have PsyPact authorization, which means I can virtually meet with clients in most states outside the DMV area. Please feel free to view PsyPact map here https://psypact.gov/page/psypactmap to inquire whether you are in a participating state.

In addition to clinical work I have experience in teaching and research. I have been an adjunct faculty on multiple occasions, teaching courses on the history of psychology and objective personality assessment. With regard to research, I have worked in several research labs at The University at Buffalo, which studied the impact of parasocial relationships on self-esteem, the effectiveness of smoking cessation medication, and the impacts of substance abuse on adolescents.
